Understanding Comics

1)What is the significance of closure in Understanding Comics?
2) Closure is all about percieving and having faith in somethings that we cannot see fully.
3)But how does this relate to the reading of comic books?
4) Closure allows us to believe that there is a world beyond the constraints of a comic panel. The boundaries of the panel are not the boundaries of the comic universe.

CNN's Popular News

The spectacle cannot be understood as a mere visual excess produced by mass-media technologies. It is a worldview that has actually been materialized, a view of a world that has become objective
The picture above is actress Renee Zelwegger taken from an article on CNN.com. The article talks about her upcoming role in a film and the difficulties she experienced in filming it. This was the second most popular news story of the day. In this time of political unrest and foreign war and all the important event of the day, the trials and tribulations of a movie actress have become the focus of our society; possibly a worldview. This spectacle of a news story is not just out there as a piece of news, but as a piece of public interest. It is not just a story; it is THE story. The mass media does not create this piece of news as a spectacle, the subjects of this story have made it popular and made it important.
